Today is three years since the first time I experienced the power of the Holy Spirit, a life changing experience that transformed my life and continues to chisel away at my being. I wrote about that experience under the blog titled Amazing Grace. It has been quite an experience over the last three years. For someone who is not strong willed and lacking self assurance, the growing experience of trusting in God has led me to make some big decisions in life and with His grace I have been able to stick with them. I find it quite amazing that I have lasted these three years in this walk of faith. Reminds me of what is said in Zechariah 4:6...It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty. All I can say is Amen to that!
There have been many a times that I have struggled with issues in life - professional and personal, but each and every time they have come to pass and I will say with Isaiah as in Isaiah 33:17-21, Your eyes will see the king in all his splendor, and you will see a land that stretches into the distance. You will think back to this time of terror when the Assyrian officers outside your walls counted your towers and estimated how much plunder they would get from your fallen city. But soon they will all be gone. These fierce, violent people with a strange, unknown language will disappear. Instead, you will see Zion as a place of worhip and celebration. You will see Jerusalem, a city quiet and secure. The Lord will be our Mighty One. He will be like a wide river of protection that no enemy can cross.
Today, after worshipping God and praying together with my wife, we read Isaiah 51 and I want to put down some verses that strenghtened me for he knows my every thought...
Isaiah 51:1-2, "Listen to me, all who hope for deliverance--all who seek the Lord! Consider the quarry from which you were mined, the rock from which you were cut! Yes, think about your ancestors Abraham and Sarah, from whom you came. Abraham was alone when I called him. But when I blessed him, he became a great nation."
6-8, ..., but my salvation lasts forever. My righteous rule will never end! "Listen to me, you who know right from wrong and cherish my law in your hearts. Do not be afraid of people's scorn or their slanderous talk...But my righteousness will last forever. My slavation will continue from generation to generation."
11-13, Those who have been ransomed by the Lord will return to Zion, singing songs of everlasting joy. Sorrow and mourning will disappear, and they will be overcome with joy and gladness. "I, even I, am the one who comforts you. So why are you afraid of mere humans, who wither like the grass and disappear? Yet you have forgotten the Lord your Creator, the one who put the stars in the sky and established the earth. Will you remain in constant dread of human oppression? Will you continue to fear the anger of your enemies from morning till night?
15-16, ...My name is the LORD Almighty. And I have put my words in your mouth and hidden you safely within my hand...
Trust in this Lord to lead you. God bless you!
